A HEATED ROOM, COFFEE AND CHAIRS: A COLLECTIVE EXPLORATION OF KOMPLOT'S ARCHIVE
FRIDAY 05/12
11:00
End: Friday 05/12 - 16:00

At: Komplot

Valentina Bianchi is hosting the workshop 𝘼 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢, 𝙘𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙨: 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙆𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙫𝙚 in the context 𝘗𝘭𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘷𝘦, the archival research residency currently taking place at Komplot. The result of the workshop will be part of a zine that will be presented at the end of Valentina’s residency in January.

Plotting the archive means digging, creating new paths, and choosing your own adventure through files and traces. After a solo exploration of the archive and the many routes it suggests taking, the research opens up to new eyes (and some familiar ones).

During the workshop we will imagine Komplot as an ecosystems that alternatively acts like a forest, a city, or a swamp, tracing together an accurate and/or alternative history of the artist-run space, as well as its potential futures.

We will select materials from the artistic projects made by and in Komplot, as well as other publications, postcards, and artist’s books that were captured into the archive at different times.

Through collective writing, drawing, and conversations, the workshop will result in a timeline that is also a map, the representation of Komplot as a nomadic island, a place without coordinates, a where without location.
