Social Recordings, initiated by audiovisual artist Ernst Maréchal, is an ongoing practice developed in collaboration with those being recorded. These sonic encounters may result in a single document, but often unfold into an extended process of sound-making, shared recording, playback and re-listening. Cassette Station activates a first collection of musical transformations emerging through responsive adaptation and, in many cases, through a playful exchange with the people and places involved.
