“Levain” Fermentation Workshop
How can we approach sourdough bread beyond capitalist modes of production, as a tool to practice a daily ritual of embodiment and deepen our connection to living yeasts, bacteria - and to ourselves?
For interdisciplinary artist Asli Hatipoğlu, sourdough bread is much more than a product: it carries stories and metaphors of life. Its making process invites us to learn through touch and observation rather than by following recipes, embracing trial and error as a way to cultivate patience in a fast-paced world.
During the workshop, the artist will share both scientific and metaphorical knowledge about sourdough. Participants will leave with their own dough and a deeper understanding of the process, encouraged to imagine their own daily ritual.
After the workshop, the artist will teach how to make homemade sourdough pizzas. The public is invited to stay and enjoy them on a donation basis.
