Jean-Louis Jorge - Mélodrame 

1976 - 86´ - French - English subtitles 

A homage to silent film, noir, and classic theatre, mélodrame recycles the style and rulebook of this period. Inspired by the on-screen romances of Pola Negri and Rudolph Valentino during Hollywood´s golden years in the 1920s, the film is marked by unabashed androgyny, homoerotica, and an almost escheresque blending of reality and cinema.

Part of the New Break film program: A fine selection of films. Every Friday and Saturday 19:00 – 22:00, from 17 April to 11 July 2026
