Initiatives with a space

Rue de l'hectolitre 3, 1000 brussel

We spoke about inner organisational models for artist run space and possible vulnerability when it comes to balancing out individual needs and projects needs. We found out in a concrete life situation of the space, those two can interfere more often then community would expect.
It brought us to need and role of some sort of soft protocol which would ensure the people and projects using the space are guided through practical and ethical elements of the use and activation of the space and materials.

We spoke about the way the space is interacting with outsider project in need of the space and importance to meet in the "middle", common ground of the exchange, avoiding inequality in distribution of production responsibility and expectations. There we came to speak about second type of soft protocol which would regulate the common understanding of mutual expectations and practical possibilities.

Finally, we find that the main benefits of sharing specific models and practices behind putting those protocols in place would be new initiatives and project related to artist-run scene in Brussels, and less the already existing core members.
